While the idea of a relationship between inequality and conflict is appealing, conclusive empirical proof of its existence has been elusive. Indeed there is no clear relationship in the data between inequality and violent conflicts. The above are just a couple of free papers available. Dull, but a warning about easy connections.
Don’t theorise or psychoanalyse – correlation does not mean causation – just deal with the problem.
I could go with that – though judging by Channel 4’s efforts some people think the problem is to do with 330 black deaths in police custody. Some time spent shafting myth might be good.
Let me guess, a lot of those deaths are suicide and suicide-by-ingestion-of-toxic-but-recreational-substance?
Yet Ch4 lumps them all in together?
I can’t find anything that makes sense on b lack victimization – even their treatment in mental health (which is bad) is representative of migration problems rather than racism.
